Rutgers Accounting Society (RAS) – Newark Chapter is a premier student-led organization at Rutgers Business School dedicated to preparing students for careers in accounting and related fields. Our mission is to help students rise above the crowd by creating opportunities, building networks, and equipping members with the technical and soft skills needed to become emerging leaders. Through professional development workshops, networking events, mentorship opportunities, and community engagement. RAS connects students with top firms, alumni, and faculty while fostering a supportive community for academic and career success.
At Rutgers Accounting Society, students gain exposure to the people, experiences, and opportunities that shape careers in accounting and beyond. RAS brings together students, professionals, recruiters, alumni, and faculty to create an environment where members can explore career paths, strengthen their professional skills, and build meaningful connections. From public accounting and industry to government and financial regulation, we help members understand where an accounting background can lead.
Access to professionals well beyond Big 4 public accounting, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), financial regulation (NFA), and real estate (EisnerAmper).
Resume workshops, interview prep, and CPA exam guidance by upperclassmen and firm professionals who've been through the same recruiting cycle.
Our VITA partnership with the Ironbound Community Corporation gives members real experience preparing free tax returns for low-income and elderly Newark residents.
